Before you select "Launch study" at the top-right of your GroupSolver study page, there are a few other items to check off once you finish designing and building out your study in the Study design.
The Audience tab allows you to visualize and monitor all respondent data as they filter in to participate in your survey. Here, you can manage your panel options and insert information regarding redirect links from your panel provider or if your survey experience includes respondents moving from platform to platform.
Study Statistics Graph
Similar to the graph you may see in the Study design tab of your study, the Panel & Statistics graph offers a comparable view but from a broader perspective.
Navigate to the "Audience" tab of your Study. Here, the "Study Statistics" page will populate. This is where you will see incoming respondent data based around completes, terminates, drop-offs, and over-quotas.
The data will be shown in a circle chart and a bar graph. The information is color coded, with the code visible at the bottom of the bar graph. The number next to the respondent data indicates how many respondents fit that criteria (example: Completes = 80, indicating 80 respondents completed the survey).
The drop-down menu at the top of the chart allows you to populate the chart based on varying time periods. The number underneath "Engagement" indicates how many respondents entered your survey in total.
Below the respondent engagement data, you will see seven indicators of study progression: Collection Progress, Incidence Rate, LOI - median, First complete, Last complete, Last recalculation, and Active Solvers.
Collection Progress: This percentage shows how much of your sample size has already been collected. In the example above, the sample size was set at N=200, but 80 respondents completed the study.
Incidence Rate: The IR here is the percentage of completed respondents to terminated respondents. This indicates how likely a respondent is to qualify for and complete your study.
LOI - median: This is the average length respondents took to complete your study.
First complete: Indicates the date on which the first respondent completed the study.
Last complete: Indicates the date on which the last respondent completed the study.
Last Recalculation: This was the last time the study progress information was recalculated.
Active Solvers: This number allows you to see how many respondents are currently taking your study.
Recalculation indicator
You can find the Recalculation indicator on the top bar next to the study name if the study contains information that has unfinished recalculation.
Panel Statistics
Below the Study Statistics information chart is the Panel Statistics section. Here, you can input panel information and redirect links.
Automatically, a Panel section will be created for you, initially named "Panel 1." Select the "Create Panel" button at the top to add further panel information.
To customize your panel settings, select the three dots. From here, you will have various options to modify, from the Label, which denotes the name of the Panel, to the Unique parameter, which varies among panel providers. You are also able to customize the Login options. 👇
Show login page: Dy default, this is toggled off. The login page refers to the GroupSolver Welcome Screen that respondents can interact with at the beginning of a study.
Allow anonymous login: Respondents may now have the option to enter the study anonymously.
Allow email login: Respondents may now enter their email addresses to enter the study.
Note: Disallowing either email or anonymous login will make the other option unavailable to toggle off. You must have one of these options selected.
Selecting the "Enable forced redirects" toggle will bring up a separate view where you can now input redirect links from your panel provider. The panel uses the redirect links to track completions, terminates, and over-quotas. There are a few items that are helpful to understand about panels and redirects when setting up your study.
Panel providers need to know which respondents are completing your study so they will know who to compensate. They do this by tagging a unique ID to each respondent and passing it into your study. After a respondent completes your study, GroupSolver then passes that specific unique ID back to the panel provider (via the redirect link).
When a respondent clicks on a link to enter your study, GroupSolver captures any appended data (anything that comes after a “?” in a URL), and it is stored in the study's database. Once a respondent finishes the study, the captured, appended respondent data is then sent back to the panel provider through the redirect links.
Your panel provider should have a set of redirect links for you to include and paste into the following redirect option boxes. For them to track respondents, they will also have a unique "tag" to track respondent interaction in a survey. You will place this variable into the "Unique parameter" box. Within the links they give you, you will need to paste in ##{{info.(their variable)}} at the end of the link. Their variable will be provided to you.
For example: https://www.panelprovider.us/s/llClientCallBack.aspx?RIS=20&RID=##{{info.rid}}
This panel's unique parameter is rid, which was then included within the ##{{info.(their variable)}} at the end of the provided link. It is now ready to be pasted into the Redirect boxes.
Redirect on complete: This variable provided by the panel tracks respondents who have completed the study.
Redirect on overquota: This variable provided by the panel tracks respondents who go over the specific quota you may have set within the study.
Redirect on termination and quality termination: This variable provided by the panel tracks respondents who terminate or do not qualify for the study.
Note: GroupSolver works with several top panel providers for data collection services. If you'd prefer to have us collect a panel for you rather than go through your own provider, please get in touch with your GroupSolver Representative or email [email protected] to ask about this service.
