The Consensus Solution™ visualization centers around a graph that illustrates correlations between bubbles that represent respondents' answers. This report helps to visualize connections between open-ended answers given by respondents in the survey—it's populated through the correlation matrixes happening as respondents participate in the Evaluation phase of the study.
Accessing the report
To open a Consensus Solution™ report, navigate to the top of your Study design and click "Reports." This will open an overlay with all reports that have already been created within the study. Find the AI Open-End™ question you would like to analyze and click "Add new."
The report title has been automatically generated and contains the question text. You can change it to your liking. In the "Chart Type" column, select Consensus Solution™.
Choose the specific answer you'd like to act as the "Central answer" for this report. All other answers will be charted based on their correlation to this answer. Click "All answers," "Top 5 answers," or "Answers above 50% support" to create the report.
Reading the report
The central answer will be shown in the top center with its corresponding letter. Here, the central answer is the "Gen z type of joke," labeled as "C."
Proximity is significant in this visual. It denotes two things: one, the closer a bubble is to the central answer implies a strong correlation, and two, the closer the bubbles are to one another also shows a strong correlation. To view the correlation statistics, hover over the bubble or click it to make a statistics box pop to the side. In the table below, you may also scroll down to view every answer and their correlation to the central answer.
In this case, answers “B,” "L," and "E" are very near the central answer. This means those who viewed and agreed to the central answer “C” were also very likely to agree with those answers with a correlation of 1.
This would also mean that those who viewed and agreed with the answer “Y” were not likely to agree with “C.” However, we can see that though the answer “Y” is farther away from the central answer, it is fairly close to the answer “AC,” which denotes a strong correlation between “Y” and “AC.”
You may also notice each bubble is colored differently. By default, each bubble will have its own color—these colors have no meaning. With our AutoThemes feature—which can be turned on and off for each report in "Chart Options"—colors will be populated to correspond with specific themes. Each answer’s bubble now corresponds with its theme color, and those answers without a theme will instead have a grey bubble.
Sorting and filtering
There are two ways to sort the chart.
The first is to click on the two arrows above the chart. This will open the sorting options. Here you can add or remove various sorting options.
The second is to click the column label in the chart table. The example below shows that the data is sorted by the Letter in ascending order and by the Support Strength and Total Expected Support in descending order.
To filter your data, click on the filter icon above your chart. This will open up the filtering options. To add a new filter, click "Add filter" in the top-right corner of the drop-down menu.
Chart data
When you click on "Data" above the chart, a drop-down will open up that includes the following:
Central answer - you can change the central answer here.
Table - table similar to the one beneath the chart, containing Correlation and Support Strength statistics.
Chart options
There are various settings in the Chart Options:
Title - you can change the chart's name here.
Display theme colors - toggling this will display theme colors directly on the chart.
