Which features did your biggest promoters suggest? What topics are your most valuable customers concerned about? Answer your burning questions with QuantQual. Our unique tech lets you connect the what to the why by estimating the impact of open-ended answers to quantitative data.
Start by selecting two questions that you want to analyze. Select one quant and one qual question. The quant question will populate the X-Axis of the chart, and the qual will populate the Y-Axis of the chart.
Make sure to follow the steps below:
Quant question - any question with options representing a quantitative variable.
Qual question - our unique AI Open-End™ question that asks respondents to agree or disagree with the answers other respondents gave.
Choose whether you want to analyze Themes or Answers. Then, choose the segment you want to monitor (default is all completes) and press "Create chart." Please wait until the report loads. It might take a while while we crunch the numbers.
Let’s look at the NPS score (X-axis) for respondents who answered the question about the most liked features (Y-axis). 👇
To construct the estimates displayed, we regress the numeric variable (the chart’s X-axis) on respondents' reactions to individual statements (the chart’s Y-axis), and the reactions are coded as dummy variables to be fed to the regression model. By doing so, the analysis is able to highlight the impact of people’s reactions toward a statement on the chosen dependent variable, if any.
If we take a closer look at the "User interface is great" answer, we can observe the following:
Users who evaluated the "User interface is great" gave an average score of 7.50. The vertical line represents this in the chart.
What are the other numbers?
The qual question is AI Open-End™. So, we have another layer of data at our disposal. We have the additional information from other respondents, who agreed/were neutral/disagreed with the statement "User interface is great."
In this case, the estimated scores are the following:
9.06 for agrees (green)
7.57 for neutrals (orange)
7.13 for disagrees (red)
For more information, there is a table below each chart to view all values in detail. The table adds the number of respondents and the p-value for each estimate.
If you hover over the chart with your mouse, a tooltip displays, giving you the same data as the table.
The P-value is also reflected in the coloring of the data point. Once the P-value for the particular data point is higher than 0.1, the fill is white, and the borders are colored. Otherwise, the fill is fully colored.
There are two report views that you can choose from:
Theme view - this view displays themes on the QuantQual chart. You can also display unthemed answers by toggling them on in the Chart Data.
Answer view - this view displays answers on the QuantQual chart.
You can toggle between these views by selecting "Themes" or "Answers" above the chart.
Sorting and Filtering
You can sort the chart in ascending or descending order by these five parameters:
Name
Estimate for agrees
Estimate for disagrees
Estimate for neutrals
Number of respondents
To access the sorting, click on the two arrows above the chart. This will open the sorting options. Here you can add or remove various sorting options.
To filter your data, click on the filter icon above your chart. This will open up the filtering options. To add a new filter, click "Add filter" in the top-right corner of the drop-down menu.

Toggling "Include unthemed answers" will display the unthemed answers together with the themes (this feature is only available in the Theme view) .
By clicking "All completes" on the top right side, you can change the segment you want to view.
To change both observed questions, scroll underneath the table and click "Ce questions."
Chart Options
There are various settings in the Chart Options:
Title - you can change the chart's name here.
Show only data points with N greater than - you can filter out the answers whose Number of respondents (N) is lower or equal to the number you provide. The filter's default value is median (N) for all the answers rounded down.
Highlight data points with P-value higher than 0.1 - you can disable the highlighting of data points with a P-value higher than 0.1
