The list enables you to upload data within and use it to create matrix questions or loops in your study dynamically.

Adding a list

Like with other GroupSolver modules, select the "+" within the study flow in the appropriate area where you'd like to add a List. You will see a variety of options to choose from. Click "Flow" and then select "List."

Under Display name, you can change the name of the list. This name will be used in the study as well as in other modules that work with the list.

Dataset

When you create a new list, you have two options:

  • Upload file

Use this option to upload a new list from your computer. These are the requirements that the list must have in order to properly work:

  • The list must be in the .csv format.

  • The list must have column header even if it only contains 1 column.

  • The list must have at least 1 unique column.

  • Only unique columns can be selected as identifiers.

Then, select the item identifier from the dropdown menu. This will select a particular column in your list. The data from the selected column can be later used in a Matrix question or a Loop.

  • Use existing

Use this option to select a list that you have previously uploaded.

Filter

You can add a filter condition to filter out the unnecessary list items you do not need for further use in a Matrix question or a Loop.

To add a filter condition, click "Add filter condition." There are three options you can choose from:

Use data from the community panel

Use this option to add a filter condition based on the data imported from the community panel.

Choose the appropriate list column from the "Respondent information" dropdown menu. Then select from the following Comparison rules:

  • Is/Is not

  • Exactly/Any of

Finally, select a "List column" from the dropdown menu.

You can add more filters by clicking "Add filter condition." Items that do not pass every condition will be filtered out.

Use answers to the matrix question

Use this option to add a filter condition based on the answers to the matrix question based on a list that was answered previously in the study.

Choose the appropriate "Matrix question" from the dropdown menu. Then select from the following Comparison rules:

  • Is/Is not

  • Exactly/Any of/Every of

Finally, select the answers to the matrix question you want to include in the filter.

You can add more filters by clicking "Add filter condition." Items that do not pass every condition will be filtered out.

Note: The matrix question must be based on the same list as the list that is being edited. Matrix conditions cannot be used in lists with uploaded files.

Use answers to question

Use this option to add a filter condition based on the answers to the choice question that was answered previously in the study.

Choose the appropriate "Choice question" from the dropdown menu. Then select from the following Comparison rules:

  • Is/Is not

  • Exactly/Containing

    • Exactly - every selected choice option label is included in the item value

    • Containing - at least one selected choice option label is included in the item value

Finally, select the column of the list that you want to match it with.
