Importing data using the "Community" tool allows you to upload data about your community into the GroupSolver Dashboard.
Preparing the community data
Community import has to contain a unique email column. The community must be uploaded before data collection, as the community panel generates email invites from uploaded data.
Importing the community data
To start importing, click on the "Community" tab at the top of your study. Drag & drop your files here or click "Select File."
Note: You may only have one uploaded file. If you have two data files that you would like to import, merge the two data files into one .csv file, and upload the newly merged file using the Community.
In the "Import as" column, click the drop-down menu of the data you want to upload and select the data format.
Do not import: does not import data from the column
Formatted text: imports data as a Free Text question.
Choice: imports data as a choice question.
Note: You may only format imported data as a choice question if the column has duplicate values (i.e., it does not have unique values).
In the "Respondent attribute" column for the data you are importing, you can change the name of the dataset used on the GroupSolver Dashboard to represent the dataset.
Note: By default, the "Respondent attribute" will be the column's name in your data file.
After selecting and formatting the datasets you want to import from your data file, click "Save changes." Once the file is successfully uploaded, its name will display under “Imported file.”
You can now decide to:
Manage Community panel - clicking this will take you to the Audience tab where you’ll manage your Community panel.
Remove file - clicking this will trigger the file removal.
Uploading additional rows to the community/data import file
Once file and respondent keys are selected and saved, “Upload additional data” button appears.
This will prompt the user to select and upload a .csv file.
When uploading additional data, rows are matched based on unique value columns. When information in one column changes, the system can match the rows together and update the data in the existing row.
Select a "Column with unique email values," which will set a unique key for this file.
Once everything is set, new rows will be processed and added to the system.
